Caecal bacterial composition of broiler chickens affected by porang glucomannan

چکیده
Glucomannan is consisted of D-glucose and D-mannose with β-1.4 linkages. Poultry had no enzyme to digest β linkage so that porang (Amorphophallus onchophyllus) glucomannan could be a prebiotic candidate. The study purposed determine the effect on caecum bacterial composition (similarity, diversity, grouping bacteria) using Terminal Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphisms method performance (body weight gain, feed intake, conversion ratio) broiler chickens. One hundred eighty unsexed day old chicks (DOC) were divided into 6 treat-ments 3 replicates (10 birds each) completely randomized design (CRD). treatments P0 (basal feed), P1 + 0.05% glucomannan), P2 0.1% glu-comannan), P3 0.15% KJ commercial konjac KM (commercial feed). results showed caecal treatment similarity basal feed. Diversity index species number was higher than glucomannan. Gluco-mannan prebiotics Lactobacillus while lowest Clostridium obtained in treatment. inclusion gave negative per-formance broilers.

Bacterial Numbers of Broiler Chickens Affected by Sampling Methods and Location
Two experiments were conducted; the first to determine whether numbers of recovered bacteria differed due to sampling method used or due to location on carcass sampled (breast or leg quarters), and the second to determine if numbers of bacteria differed between ventral and dorsal sides of the carcass. In both experiments eviscerated broiler carcasses were obtained from a commercial processing p...
متن کاملIsolation and identification of Helicobacter pullorum from caecal content of broiler chickens in Mashhad, Iran
The presence of Helicobacter pullorum in intestinal tract of broiler chickens may be a potential risk for human health. In this study, a total of 100 caecal samples of broilers carcasses from 20 flocks at a poultry abattoir in Mashhad suburb were tested for the presence of H. pullorum using modified conventional culture method by combination of culturing on Brucella sheep blood agar and a filte...
متن کاملInteractions between diet composition and genotype of broiler chickens.
Day-old male broiler chickens of fat line (FL) and lean line (LL) (Leclercq et al., 1980) were obtained from INRA (Nouzilly, France). From two weeks of age onwards, both lines were divided into 2 groups, each receiving 1 of 2 isoenergetic diets with substitutions between fat and protein and a constant gross energy and carbohydrate level (low protein diet (LP): 126 vs 242 g protein/kg and low fa...
متن کاملAssociation between gizzard lesions and increased caecal Clostridium perfringens counts in broiler chickens.
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between mucosal gizzard lesions and caecal Clostridium perfringens counts. Gross pathological changes in the gizzard and small intestine, and caecal C. perfringens counts from 1217 meat-type chickens were recorded during the course of six experiments and were statistically analysed. C. perfringens counts increased significantly (P < 0.00...
متن کاملIntestinal Microbiota of Broiler Chickens As Affected by Litter Management Regimens
Poultry litter is a mixture of bedding materials and enteric bacteria excreted by chickens, and it is typically reused for multiple growth cycles in commercial broiler production. Thus, bacteria can be transmitted from one growth cycle to the next via litter. However, it remains poorly understood how litter reuse affects development and composition of chicken gut microbiota. In this study, the ...
